Sneak Preview: New Blog!

Now that I've joined Glenbrook Partners I'm discontinuing ForteBlog. From now on I will be posting here. Four years worth of ForteBlog posts have been moved over to the new blog. Many of you may be familiar with Glenbrook's popular Payments News blog, the go-to source for payments industry news as it is happening. We're launching a new companion blog: Payments Views.

Our goal at Payments Views is to draw conclusions, connect the dots, and analyze what's happening in the industry. In addition, we're drawing on themes and events in related fields - technology, finance & accounting, economics, social media, etc - that impact payments. I'll be editor and post regularly, and my colleagues will chime in, too. We welcome guest contributions, so if you've got something to say let me know.

We're still in beta mode (just starting out in fact) but I wanted to invite ForteBlog readers to join in early.

Forte Financial and Erin McCune join forces with Glenbrook Partners

Glenbrook Logo

I am thrilled to announce that as of today, I am joining the payment strategy firm Glenbrook Partners as a partner (press release). I've collaborated with Glenbrook on and off over the last 18 months and am confident that this is a great match.  I will continue to focus on the intersection of corporate finance, payments, and financial technology; but now my expertise is complemented by the extensive payment, operations, and strategy insight of my new colleagues. We look forward to working with you to weather near-term economic challenges and develop winning strategies to succeed in the longer term.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Glenbrook, we offer:

Consulting & Research

Glenbrook Partners is a consulting and research firm that helps companies leverage the electronic delivery of financial services, with particular focus on payments, risk management, digital identity, and authentication. The firm helps clients with strategy definition, product development, and the application of technology to solve leading edge problems in the financial services industry.

Payments Education Program

For those needing to come up to speed quickly on electronic payments and related technologies, Glenbrook offers a comprehensive program of workshops, including its very popular Payments Boot Camp, in both public and private settings. The Glenbrook Payments Education Program began four years ago and is unique in the industry in providing a two day "deep dive" into the US payments system - thus far 2000 payments professionals have attended. In addition, Glenbrook offers a series of advanced courses on emerging payments and other topics. Companies can request Glenbrook Private Payments Workshops that customized to meet your specific needs of and taught on-site at your location.

I am co-teaching two upcoming Glenbrook workshops:

  • Web 2.0 in Financial Services workshop with Scott Loftesness in Santa Clara, March 19
  • eB2B at the Tipping Point workshop with Carol Coye Benson in New York City, May 27-28

Payments News

Glenbrook publishes Payments News, the industry-leading "blog of record," providing payment and financial professionals with one stop to stay up to date on the payments news of the day. I am particularly excited to work on expanding the scope of Glenbrook's blogging and online community.

Once I get settled I'll follow up with my new blog URL and RSS feed details. In the meantime, add Payments News to your reading list if you haven't done so already.
